Torrent is a reflection following the death of my mother--a captain in the army and later mother to six children.  After years of service during the second world war, it was difficult for her to transition into the role of wife to a military husband.

My studio has always provided me with avenues for addressing personal and often highly emotional events.  My works give concrete form to these often mixed and conflicted moments. ~ Jack Girard
