“Fed by the Night” by Kevin McCormack

I was a muralist for the City of Albany, NY. More recently in 2018, 2019 and 2020, I participated in curated shows at The Islip Art Museum located in East Islip, NY. I moved to Colorado in 2020.

The themes of my work are Transformation, Manifestation and Presence: the human becoming animal; the animal becoming human. The work I'm exhibiting in the Nocturnal Show is an example of this. Other pieces, not included in this show, reveal myths and rituals that cease to perish and archetypal symbols that inform our psyche and manifest as artifacts of our making.

The original paintings and drawings that I made were destroyed in the Marshall Fire, so I resolved to digitize the pieces, which I had photographed and scanned. Currently, I am printing a selection of these works on HD metal, brushed aluminum and canvas as reimagined versions and permutations of the vaporized paintings and drawings.
