“Dance Over the Mountains” by Rachael LaMielle

It’s joyfully freeing to give up what you think your art should be. In doing so, I rediscovered my love of creating and set about it in a myriad of fun ways. My Art is about fun and creatively living in the moment. I hope you get a dose of that and enjoy! Always changing, I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and styles. I grab my watercolor “kit” and set up in the great outdoors. Much of my work is done in Colorado, but my kit comes on all my adventures and travels from my backyard to around the globe. So far art has played a part in capturing the beauty in California, Michigan, Hawaii, Italy, France, New Zealand, Fiji and Switzerland. I’ve painted on a log, a picnic table, a mountain top, and a boat (to name a few) . From hot sandy beaches to freezing amphitheaters (fun fact: when watercolors freeze on the page because it's COLD it makes some pretty neat patterns!).

In my home studio, I love to play with impressionistic acrylic paintings (from teeny-tiny canvases to playful combinations of large canvas sizes) and approximately three hundred super fine-line pens to make an estimated two million tiny dots into something vibrant and fun.
