Finding Peace Within Project

The Kansha Cloth Movement.

By focusing on telling the stories of difficulties artists have experienced, we hope will bring people together with more love and understanding.

Our vision is a final piece similar to EL ANATSUI’s work; a Ghanaian sculptor as seen above. The “fabric” created from a photo of each piece submitted, will come together in a quilt-like piece, titled: Kansha Cloth.

The Japanese word “kansha”, literally means “appreciation, gratitude” but on a metaphorical level it stands for a beautiful practice of cultivating sincere gratitude.

Join Our Movement and Tell Your Story

We want everyone to join.

Enter up to 3 pieces that tell/symbolize your story/struggle/trauma; has art helped you to cope with hardships? All mediums welcome, including video and writing. If financially challenged, contact us here. A final “fabric” created from a photo of each piece submitted, will come together in a quilt-like piece, titled: Kansha Cloth. Your work may be shown for sale and NFS (not for sale) Your story will be told with your permission on website and book. Your entry fee goes toward forwarding the movement, along with a portion donated to The Parachute SAAP Project. It’s TIME we start talking about struggles, suicide, trauma, mental health, and finding peace within. Let’s support each other with love and understanding.
